New Album “You Will See The Light” Coming Soon
Ben will be releasing his new album “You Will See The Light” in late 2023. You can hear a few live versions of songs from the album below as well as some of Bens previous work below.
“Some Good” is my attempt at writing an epic love story song. It was very much inspired by Richard Thompsons classics “Beeswing” and “1952 Vincent Black Lightning”. I love the comcept that after a long relationship with lots of ups and downs it is possible to remember that both people will have changed and despite the bad, some good has been done too. BBS.
I don’t really know where “Nothing I Can Change” came from but it is a sentiment I have related to in some difficult times of my life. It has a lively bluesy feel to it and is always fun to play. Accompanied on this video by Sleepy Kev Bishop on harmonica. BBS
“Until Next Time” Is a song that came together very quickly and simultaneously broke my heart and made me smile. It’s a song about friends through time and valuing the time you have with people.
“Standing at the station, you’ve got your big bags packed, Don’t know if you think you’re Bear Grylls or Kerouac” is one of my favourite lyrics from the album. It’s stupid but feels exactly like the kind of silly joke someone would make when they’re actually sad about someone leaving but don’t know how to express that.” BBS
2017s “Shallow Roots” album written and recorded with my friend Siobhan Donnelly. Siohan does great community singing work also. You can find out more about her work here.
A fun live session with The Blind Dead McJones Band from 2018 playing some of our “YogRock” songs.
